MIG Welding

SteinerZ delivers MIG Welding that’s ideal for joining diverse metals at high efficiency for quick and high volume projects

MIG Welding Overview

MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas welding), also called GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), is a welding process where a continuous wire electrode is fed through a welding gun and melted to join metal pieces together.

At the same time, a shielding gas (usually argon, CO₂, or a mix) flows from the gun to protect the weld from contamination in the air.

Because the wire continuously feeds through the gun, MIG welding allows welders to work quickly and efficiently, making it one of the most widely used welding methods in manufacturing and fabrication.

Benefits of MIG Welding

MIG welding is popular because it is fast, efficient, versatile, and ideal for high-productivity fabrication work. Other key benefits of MIG Welding include:

  • Continuous wire feed allows faster welding than many other processes

Real-World Applications

MIG welding works well for structural and industrial applications because it offers fast production speeds, strong welds, and consistent results for repetitive fabrication work.

Automotive

Vehicle frames and chassis, exhaust systems, and body panel assembly

Steel beams and columns, staircases, railings, and supports, and structural frames for buildings

Tractor frames, equipment attachments and buckets, and trailer frames

Industrial machinery components, metal racks, shelving, and enclosures, and production equipment frames

Truck bodies and trailers, shipping containers, and material handling equipment

The SteinerZ Approach to MIG Welding

SteinerZ positions itself as a trusted MIG welding partner through skilled technicians, ISO-certified quality systems, low defect rates, fast turnaround times, and full-service fabrication capabilities.

Ability to Handle Many Materials and Project Types

SteinerZ supports MIG welding across a wide range of materials, including:

  • Steel
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum
  • Brass and copper

We also support prototypes, production runs, and complex welded assemblies, which means we can offer flexibility for different project scopes.

Skilled Welding Technicians

Our welding services are performed by highly trained technicians focused on precision results, which supports consistent weld quality and reliable outcomes.

This expertise is important for MIG welding, which is often used for high-volume production and structural fabrication.

Very Low Defect Rate

We’re pleased to present our rejection rate of 1% or less, which speaks to our strong process control and quality inspection procedures.

For our customers relying on MIG welding for production components, a low defect rate helps reduce rework, scrap, and supply chain disruptions.

Full-Service Fabrication Under One Roof

MIG welding is part of our complete fabrication workflow, which includes:

  • CNC laser cutting
  • Metal forming
  • Machining welding and assembly
  • Finishing services

This integrated approach allows your team to source multiple processes from a single partner, simplifying project management and improving consistency.
